The Cloud Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting and designing the continuous integration and delivery pipeline applications, various scripting and automation tasks relative to service delivery, and/or platforms support.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Design technical architecture for cloud solutions that meet customer needs for scalability, reliability and performance
Serve as a technical subject matter expert for cloud services, providers, and platforms
Work as part of an infrastructure team to ensure deployment and integration tasks are completed successfully. Manage infrastructure services in a production environment to ensure high availability and reliability
Anticipate risks and obstacles and develops plans for mitigation, set up alerts notifying teams before potential issues escalate to a service outage
Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle
Support development and QA teams in their deployment efforts as needed
Assist client support personnel in the remediation of production issues
Support client efforts to integrate to the platform by providing technical subject matter expertise
Facilitate after hours deployment efforts as needed
Develop, contribute, and evaluate technical proposals related to cloud migrations and implementations
Document pipeline and support applications as needed
Attend departmental, project and general meetings and effectively represent current status as appropriate
Install system patches and application updates as directed
Achieve external certifications, memberships, and/or awards/recognition in area of specialization
Support data architectures and verify they are in regulatory and legal compliance
Plan and coordinate own work to meet commitments and quality expectations
Education & Experience

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from an accredited college or university in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three (3) or more years of production support, designing and architecting, configuring and optimizing of AWS solutions and core services is required. These services include: EC2, VPC, S3, Cloud Front, Lambda, IAM, etc.
Five (5) or more years of hands on experience with Linux (Debian distros) and networking fundamentals, including: DHCP, DNS, IPSEC, BGP, Routing, Load Balancing, OSI model & implementation.
Five (5) or more years of hands on experience deploying and supporting web server infrastructures (Apache 2, NodeJS, Nginx, etc.) including SSL certificate management.
Understanding of web development lifecycles and knowledge of version control tools (Git), caching tools (Redis, Memcache), and continuous integration and deployment tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, TravisCI).
Hands on experience deploying SQL and NoSQL database platforms (MySQL, Postgres, Mongo, Cassandra, etc.)
Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Salt, Terraform, Packer, etc.) and monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Zabbix, etc.)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
