Key Responsibilities
As a Recreation Intern you will provide general support to the day-to-day functions of the department. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to assisting management and staff in the planning, organizing, and supervision of specific assigned recreation programming activities or functions and special events. Other duties include overview of budgets, media requests, research, reporting, shopping, filing, copying, and other duties as assigned.
This position also works with other department's on assigned projects, and maintains good relationships with community, other interest groups and agencies serving the area.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Strong candidates must possess the following:
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Parks or related field
Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, along with strict attention to detail
A high level of creativity
Prior field work or part-time experience in the areas of recreation or related area is preferred
Hours: Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Must have availability for some evenings and weekends if necessary.
