The Waste Water-Gasoline Technician is responsible for carrying out the routine operational treatment of Industrial Waste Waters. The technician will perform minor maintenance as well as environmental and safety duties as assigned. This position requires an ability to follow instructions consistently and to communicate effectively so that all activities are aligned with the desires of the Operations Supervisor and Covanta Environment Solutions.
Complete work sheets and forms clearly and consistently.
Gather and assist with evaluating samples (as assigned).
Assist and/or manage the offloading of waste streams, inventory levels, and chemical treatment products.
Assist and/or manage bulk chemical transfers, transfer of materials within tanks, and QA/QC
Load and unload bulk tankers.
Maintain a clean work area.
Perform cleanings of tanks & waste water process equipment (as assigned).
Monitor the operation of all waste water processing equipment.
Maintain the operational performance of the gasoline process and waste water equipment.
Identify and report operating anomalies to the Operations Supervisor or Maintenance Department.
Direct and assist with the operation of the sludge transfer and dewatering systems.
Conduct basic laboratory tests to evaluate waste water samples, as directed.
Waste water certification preferred.
40 HAZWOPR or ability to achieve course once hired
Ability to work a flexible schedule. May include overtime and staggered work schedules.
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and a professional attitude.
Ability to comprehend and adhere to company health and safety requirements.
Ability, with adequate training, to install and operate remediation systems including but not limited to pumps, filters, vessels, media change-outs, etc.
Understands basic chemistry
Ability to communicate effectively and utilize influence.
Strong attention to details and analytical skills.
Highly dedicated worker with sense of teamwork.
