Residential Service Systems (RSS) is HIRING dynamic individuals to be part of our direct support professional team in* Abington, Oreland and Wyncote*. RSS provides supervised living (CLA) and supported living (SLA), shared housing, individual homeownership, education, training, and clinical treatment services for men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Montgomery County.
Direct Service Professionals are directly responsible for the health, safety, and supervision of individuals receiving services. The DSP is responsible for assisting individuals with completing their outcomes, which include supporting health, safety, and the growth of the individual. Commitment to RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed.

Responsibilities/Duties
Monitor the safety and comfort of individuals, while ensuring that their medical, nutritional and personal care needs are being met.
Support individuals to identify and achieve the personal outcomes important to them
Interact with individuals in an emotionally supportive and therapeutic manner, and practice effective techniques for reinforcing appropriate individual behavior.
Provide counseling, guidance, direction, and/or redirection to individuals as needed
Utilize crisis management skills
Provide transportation and assist individuals with integration into the community by accompanying them on various activities.
Assist individuals with general housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, and shopping duties.
Complete assigned cleaning tasks on a routine basis to maintain a neat and clean environment.
Assist individuals in the handling of money and finances.
Provide age-appropriate leisure time activities.
Required Experience
Passion to care for others with a positive approach and protect clients who are dependent on your care
Strong desire to be successful and learn program-specific regulations
Previous experience is a PLUS!
Required Education
- High school diploma or GED
Required Qualifications
Must pass employment-related screenings and have a pre-employment physical
Ability to travel in rural and city areas
Must pass all mandatory training (CPR/FA, Medication Administration)
Valid driver's license in your residence (in your residence mean state?)
