PenFed Credit Union Research Team Lead in Omaha, Nebraska

PenFed is hiring a Research Team Lead at our Omaha, Nebraska location. The primary purpose of this job is to oversee the daily activities of assigned Research team members. To include staff onboarding, coaching, scheduling, evaluation, corrective action and career development. The role may perform the duties of the Manager, Team Support in the manager’s absence.

Work schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of Research department staff on a daily basis to include establishing goals, priorities and expected performance level of the team.

  • Administer stated objectives, goals and performance standards for team members and assist in ensuring that goals are met or exceeded.

  • Ensure proper schedule coverage by creating and maintaining a master schedule while monitoring staff schedule adherence.

  • Collaborate with Research Service Support team in the development and support of business unit-level initiatives.

  • Provide employee feedback and counseling in the form of monthly one-on-one coaching sessions and annual performance evaluations.

  • Mentor and coach employees while documenting and providing actionable feedback on individual performance.

  • Responsible for hiring, staffing, disciplinary action and training for Research team members.

  • Coordinate logistics and conduct new employee orientation/onboarding programs, which includes reviewing departmental policies and procedures, expectations and performance standards.

  • Maintain working knowledge of all department responsibilities to ensure the ability to lead specialized staff in various skills, including sales and technical support.

  • Plan and organize unit staff meetings.

  • Maintain current knowledge of PenFed products and procedures, and products offered by competitors.

  • Review policies, procedures, and guidelines and makes recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred.

  • Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible work experience within Operations in a financial institution.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in member service is required.

  • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.

  • Technical proficiency in standard business computer operations.

  • Knowledge of financial institution structure, products, policies and procedures preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will supervise employees.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is required.
