National Agricultural Statistics Service Budget and Accounting Technician in Olivette, Missouri

Summary

This position is located with the Call Center Group in the National Operations Division for the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). In this position, you will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance for management and staff in the Call Center Group in the areas of budget and fiscal services, human resources management, and administration.

Responsibilities

Presents budget estimates to the Deputy Director and Group Leader, as appropriate.

Oversees the preparation, transmittal, and maintenance of time and attendance records.

Prepares data summaries for inclusion in routine and special reports on budget execution.

Procures commercially available goods and services utilizing authorized purchase cards.

Qualifying experience for GS-06 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-05 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience preparing and revising budget estimates for program activities; providing employment information to job applicants in response to inquiries; on-boarding new employees; and monitoring and maintaining office inventories. FOR THE GS-07:

Qualifying experience for GS-07 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-06 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience preparing and revising budget estimates for program activities; providing employment information to job applicants in response to inquiries; on-boarding new employees; presenting budget estimates; and monitoring and maintaining office inventories. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
