PURPOSE: Responsible for the continuous improvement of asset productivity and quality through improved process control and capability. Leads efforts to troubleshoot quality, material, and process problems and drives improved process control through SOP, material, equipment, and skill development.


  1. Ensure all tasks are performed in a safe manner and compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

  2. Understand and fully utilize all ISO procedures

  3. Maintains ISO compliant process and quality records.

  4. Regularly interacts with frontline leaders and production employees to provide direction and leadership.

  5. Provides technical expertise to Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Product Development, and Quality to support and improve plant performance.

  6. Plans, executes and documents trial results for process and product development

  7. Provide support in developing specification for new products

  8. Responsible for the daily monitoring and troubleshooting for quality and production

  9. Partner with maintenance to improve machine reliability

  10. Develops and leads assigned projects from start to completion

  11. Develops and leads improvement programs around quality, process capability and yield reduction

  12. Responsible for determining process and machine capabilities and continuous improvement programs through the use of statistical methods.

  13. Regularly interfaces with customers and vendors

  14. Provides support for investigations into customer complaints and developing corrective action

  15. Responsible for working with raw material and process equipment suppliers to qualify new materials for new products, increasing efficiencies and/or reducing cost

  16. Utilizes process control methodology (Six Sigma, SPC, Designed Experiments, etc...) to solve problems and improve process control and capability.

  17. Serves as a resource on plant technologies, control systems, and raw materials. Initiates and assists with implementation of process control improvements using DMAIC planning process.

  18. Initiates plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of processes and equipment

  19. Participate in long term strategic planning involving the optimum utilization of company assets

  20. Serves as a resource on manufacturing technologies, control systems, and process control.

  21. Manages process change through use of designed experiment

  22. Leads process changes and maintain FMEA's for all assets.

  23. Ensures consistency of processes across all assets and shifts.

  24. Initiates and leads process improvements.

  25. Tracks improvement through use of Hoshin, Kaizen and other approved methodologies.Ensures maintenance of asset SOP's and work instructions.

  26. Through leveraged knowledge of current technology and market trends, participates in the definition of advanced products required to sustain a cost effective competitive position.

  27. Partners with Product Development and Sales

  28. Support the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion and upgrades.

  29. May lead or participate in regional or global projects

  30. Additional duties as assigned.


Education (Degree/Major): BS in Engineering or related field required or equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

Certifications: Six Sigma Black or Green belt preferred

Work Experience : Minimum of 3 years in Process Engineering or related field. Experience in web handling, slitting, and winding preferred.
