Boeing Defense, Space, & Security (BDS) located in Oklahoma City, is seeking highly qualified

Software Engineer

to develop leading edge solutions to directly support the warfighter.  Boeing Software is experiencing unprecedented growth across all of its supported platforms due to the award of multiple new contracts. This position is based out of Oklahoma City, OK.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system

Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met Performs software project management and software supplier management functions

Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics

Executes and documents software research and development projects

Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations

Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards

Works under general direction

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Experience with software development using 1553 protocols

Experienced leading software development initiatives and overseeing early career engineers

Experience with planning and scheduling detailed tasking for team

Proficiency with the following:  Linux, C++, Visual Studio, Java, SNMP, XML

5+ years of current hand-on experience with software development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Current Secret Clearance

Experience with  HF-121/ARC-210 radios is a plus.

Understanding of 40/45 MC Software Architecture

Experience with Agile

Experience in Software


Experience scripting activities in a Linux or Windows environment

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
