Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Staff Department: Facilities / Maintenance Salary/Status: TBD / Non- Exempt Reports To: Facilities Manager
Overview: Assist the company and the Facilities/Sanitation Supervisor in maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Must comply with all cGMP sanitation standards.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Installation, repair, PM and cleaning of the air compressors, air conditioners, dryers, filters, piping, dust collectors, wall filters, sheetrock, paint, doors, windows, elevators, stairs, roof, sidewalks, truck docks, concrete floors, janitorial equipment, including floor scrubber, plumbing, including toilets and de-ionized water, lighting fixtures, including those 30 ft. above the ground. These are to be done to the extent of ability
Removal and installation of office equipment, furniture and any other items that need to be moved.
Shovel snow, pick up litter and maintain the exterior of the building.
Assist sanitation personnel or production maintenance as needed, especially on super clean days and sick/vacation coverage.
Assist production maintenance as requested.
Accompany pest control and other contractors as needed.
All other duties as assigned.
High School Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Two years’ experience working in a trade or construction.
Some experience working as a janitor.
Experience working in a GMP governed facility preferred.
Ability to interact with employees and contractors pleasantly.
Ability to take feedback and adjust to meet deadlines.
Basic understanding of cGMP practices, sanitation practices and safety practices preferred.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Ability to lift 35 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds regularly.
Must be able to lift, twist, and stand for extended periods, reach, crawl, push and pull.
Ability to work in all-weather environments.
Ability to work from a ladder, scissor lift or man lift.
Ability to work on the roof.
Preference given to those with education and work experience as an electrician, mechanic, drywall or painter.
Must be able to understand, speak, read and write in English in order to perform the essential functions of the job as they relate to comprehension of laws, regulations, standards, documents and other internal and external communications.
Must have basic hand tools.
Subject to moderate noise level
Subject to high noise levels where hearing protection may be required
Subject to atmospheric conditions, such as fumes from the machines, odors, powders, dust and other particles.
