Post Consumer Brands HVAC Technician- K Team - PM Shift (Northfield, MN) in Northfield, Minnesota

JOB FUNCTION: The primary responsibility of the HVAC technician is to perform mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance and troubleshooting on the plant ammonia chilled system, air compressors, boilers, and HVAC equipment, so that production down time is minimized and efficiency is maximized. Support, implement, and maintain food safety practices as required through the Safe Quality Foods program (SQF). The technician will be responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety, food safety, quality and environmental practices. JOB ACTIVITIES/DUTIES: Monitor and document equipment running parameters, and maintain equipment records. Troubleshoot and repair both plant and production HVAC equipment problems (mechanical, electrical, and electronic). Resolve problems of plant production equipment such as the ammonia chiller systems, plant and office air handling systems, air conditioning, electrical and electronic problems such as heating and cooling controls, PLC programmable controller drives, humidification and dehumidification equipment, and fired HVAC equipment, superheaters, Jetzone ovens, etc. Record data required for equipment repair, downtime or efficiency, or other pertinent data as required. Perform daily roof inspections and documentation. Substitute for any Team Member during breaks/absence/vacation. Ability to effectively interact and communicate pertinent information to other Team Members and outside vendors. Participate in all training activities of the Team and plant committees as required. Maintain flexibility to attend meetings during non-scheduled times as required. JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED with 1-2 years vocational training in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment. Ability to gain knowledge of ammonia systems, boilers, and air compressors; or applicable experience. State boilers, electrical and refrigeration licenses are a plus. Must have a Universal Refrigerant Certification. Computer proficiency for basic functions including: internet, email, data entry, record keeping, etc. and electronic, electronic test equipment and multi-meters. Ability to pass a Respirator Fittest Flexibility to work overtime when needed Ability to work in a team environment, solve problems, and communicate effectively to various support staff Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language; ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work 12 hour shifts and every other weekend on a regularly scheduled basis in which standing, kneeling, climbing and walking are 100% of on-the-job time. Comfortable working in hot and/or humid environments, heights, working on ladders, confined spaces and catwalks. Ability to lift and carry 75-100 pound objects. Ability to distinguish between sounds or vibrations for equipment repair and colors for electronic wiring work. Comfortable wearing MOM Brands' uniform and required PPE including but not limited to: bump-cap, hair net, beard net, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, steel-toed shoes, etc. Ability to complete MOM Brands' pre-employment process (including: background check, drug screen, physical work screen, employment verification and education verification) prior to starting.
