Saint-Gobain Research Engineer -SPM in Northborough, Massachusetts
Saint-Gobain’s North American R&D center is looking for driven, talented, and energetic entry level researchers to join our current team in conducting hands-on laboratory experiments for key development programs. Projects will focus on process and product development activities related to Saint-Gobain extensive product line. Phases of development include pilot, scale-up, and implementation of R&D processes into manufacturing.
Under the direction of a Senior Engineer/Principal Scientist the candidate will design, run experiments, produce lab scale samples, operate pilot equipment, and analyze the experimental outcomes. In addition to designing experiments for the candidate’s primary projects, the candidate will be expected to conduct experiments to support projects led by others.
Utilizes basic scientific or engineering principles and techniques to undertake specific tasks and projects with limited scope.
Manages and documents projects effectively with supervision.
Demonstrates open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility.
Seeks out others to enhance and streamline development and decision making.
Incumbent will be required to submit technical reports on project progress and results.
Understands Gate Process methodology/ideology and utilizes and incorporates it in research projects
Must possess a body of technical work commensurate with their years of experience including but not limited to: hands-on lab work, demonstration of familiarity with statistical tools, data analysis, and drawing conclusions based on a collection of basic data and interpretation. Experience in using literature to support interpretation is a plus.
Project leadership including project management, team collaboration, and oral and written communication skills are required.
Demonstrated basic knowledge in HSE.

BS Degree in Material Science, Biological Engineering, Chemical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical engineering or other related disciplines.
