Job Description:
Perform a variety of assembly and wiring operations on various levels of assemblies of electrical/electronic and microwave circuits on electro-optical and electro-mechanical systems working from engineering drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams. Wire previously installed components and subassemblies into main assemblies and perform assembly of components. Perform a variety of harness and cable assembly installations.

Essential Duties:
Perform assembly and wiring operations on subassemblies to final assemblies of electrical/electronic and microwave circuits on electro-optical and electro-mechanical systems and subsystems. Work from drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, operations sheets and various other source data.
Perform bench, assembly, floor, cleanroom and tower wiring, involving various type cables, harnesses, printed circuit cards (PTH & SMT) and chassis wiring. Use various types of potting and epoxy compounds, wiring on or near optics and other assigned work.
Wire previously installed components and subassemblies into main assemblies and, when required, perform mechanical assembly of components.
Perform a variety of harness and cable assembly installations including clamping, checking clearances, crimping, wire dressing, soldering and mechanical assembly of components.
Perform wave soldering and conformal coating duties.
Design routing of cables and harnesses for prototype work; work to close tolerances, work with torches; print markers, assist engineering on prototype designs; use torque wrenches, multimeters, ohmmeters, meggers, micrometers, protractors and specialized electronic tools.
Perform teardown, inspection and evaluations (TIE) on multiple programs and electronic equipment; assist production technician in sophisticated system adjustments in test tower; fabricate harness boards; set up and operate cable bend master machines.
Maintain appropriate production records. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly manner. Observe and follow all safety rules and regulations.
Perform other similar and related duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Trade School + specialized training
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
3+ months electronic assembly experience or equivalent within the aerospace, defense or medical industry
Work Environment/Equipment Used:
Light manufacturing/production environment
ESD controlled environment
Occasional exposure to chemicals and epoxies with RTK numbers
The use of safety equipment (PPE) is required

Ability to lift 30 lbs. and 50 lbs assisted
