Sky News Australia is currently looking for a full time Junior Syndication Producer based at the Sky News Centre in Macquarie Park. Working alongside Television and Digital News Producers.

Your impact

  • Responsible for producing and distributing news bulletin videos across Sky News' extensive outdoor network and via our international subscription platform Australia Channel.

  • Edit short form video across a range of content genres.

  • Australian News Channel operates a range of digital news media platforms, reaching millions of Australians each week.

  • We are looking for someone who has a keen interest in news and current events. The candidate has a high level of attention to detail, is technically savvy with a strong ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • As part of your role you will be expected to proofread and edit captions for our syndicated news content. We are looking for someone who is a proficient reader who can identify and fix grammatical errors proficiently and efficiently.

  • You will take initiative and work autonomously, as well as take direction on priorities and editorial style.

  • The Sky News newsroom is in operation 24 hours a day and all members of the team are required to be available for flexible hours, including irregular hours and unpredictable shifts, driven by news demands with regular weekend work.

Your responsibilities

  • Compiling bulletins and editing these ready for distribution

  • Using video editing software (Quantel)

  • Efficient proof reading and editing

  • Offline captioning to strict deadlines and fast turnarounds

  • Studio lining

  • Cutting and distributing licensed content

  • Additional syndication duties as required including converting programs into Podcasts, uploading On-Demand programs

Your experience and capability

  • Journalism & Communication graduates encouraged to apply

  • A positive attitude with enthusiasm for learning new skills

  • Ability to work unsupervised, to tight deadlines and under pressure

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
