The Associate Business Systems Consultant (ABSC) for the HCP marketing Intelligent Decision Platform is responsible to provide expert advice on, the selection, design, implementation and business use of the PEGA Infinity platform. He/she will analyze business processes; elicit, analyze, and document business requirements; identify alternative solutions, assess feasibility and make recommendations typically seeking to exploit and leverage all the features and capabilities of the PEGA Infinity platform. This position will maintain awareness of all the technical capabilities within the HCP omni-channel marketing eco-system and ensure optimal utilization of PEGA in context of the other eco-system components. He/she will translate business requirements into functional requirements; performs data and process modeling; manages change; and leads, coordinates / performs testing, verification, and validation of requirements.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the business team in gathering requirements and choosing the best way to implement requirements leveraging the Pegasystem software and DCO capabilities.

  • Understand business process and business requirements of the customers and translating them to requirements artifacts such as BRD/Functional spec/Use stories

  • Understands the overall HCP omni-channel marketing strategy; works with IT Business Relationship managers and business clients to understand specific business processes and needs and opportunities for improvement; identifies IT capabilities and information required to support the business processes and collaborates in the development of appropriate IT strategies.

  • Identifies current and emerging Decision Management needs and evaluates implementation options within the PEGA platform.

  • Develops technology strategies solutions that meet the requirements of the business. Identifies the business benefits of alternatives.

  • Ensures technology solutions and implementation options align to business goals and objectives. Prepares testing plans to confirm that requirements and system design are accurate and complete.

  • Proactively shares knowledge of the PEGA platform capabilities and solutions with BTS colleagues and business clients in the form of Knowledge Transfer documentation, training, and presentations.

  • Identify process disconnects and translate them into improvement opportunities with cost savings or avoidance, productivity improvements, or revenue generating business benefits.

  • Develops business relationships and integrates activities with other BTS colleagues to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.

  • Manages relationships between clients and other BTS resources to assure effective communication between the groups is occurring. Brokers services within BTS community on behalf of customers; coordinates system solutions.

  • Accountable for the accuracy of the fit of the proposed solution to the business needs and the information upon which the business justification and prioritization decisions are made. Also accountable for communicating the business need and drivers to development groups to assure the implementation phase can fulfill the business need.

  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives of assignment. Has defined authority and responsibility for a significant area of work, including technical, financial and quality aspects. Establishes organizational objectives and delegates assignments. Accountable for actions and decisions taken by self and subordinates.

  • Identifies the impact of any relevant statutory, internal or external regulations on the organization's use of information.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable AbbVie Policies and procedures. Work with minimal oversight; deliverables and relationships are monitored through periodic reviews.



  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years experience; Master's degree and 5+ years experience; or PhD.

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as Pega BA

  • Lead the process of gathering requirements.

  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SLC).

  • Effectively communicate with internal teams and clients to deliver user interface requirements like Graphical User Interfaces, Screen and Interface mock-ups

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to building trust, listen, and ask effective questions. Innovative thinking and the ability to leverage experience to be successful in an entrepreneurial environment.

  • Interest in technology trends and application of technology to improve end user’s experience.

  • Proven track record of effective project leadership and positive results. Ability to self-manage time and priorities.

  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills

  • Sets high standards of performance for self; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks

  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with the PEGA Infinity platform

  • Strong understanding of Pega methodologies.

  • Certified Pega Business Architect is plus.

  • Certified System Architect is plus.

  • Agile/scrum development methodology knowledge and experience.

  • Experience with software architecture and SOA services implementation

  • Experience designing and developing process based solutions

  • Experience in process excellence/modeling, workflow, or flow charting

  • Knowledge of terminology, processes, practices and procedures associated with Customer Relationship Marketing.

  • Knowledge of Data Privacy, Data Security, HIPAA and health data compliance best practices.

  • Proficient in project management practices, portfolio review, finance and budgeting.
