Under the direction of a qualified physician, performs a variety of technical CT scan procedures that require minimum independent ionizing radiation for the diagnosis of disease in humans.

***This is a night shift (overnight) position.


A day in the life of a CT Technologist at Hackensack Meridian Health can be described as follows:
Prepares and performs CT Scans in compliance with departmentstandards with a minimum of 99% accuracy. Regularly updates knowledge of technologists regulations appropriate to the age ofPatients served.
Schedule appropriate amount of time for each patient, regularlyreviews the requisition received during the shift, and scheduleproperly throughout the shift.
Prepares all opaque contrast media used in various examinationswith an accuracy rate of 100%.
Processes images within 30minutes of the completion of theexamination.
Translates physician's orders involving technical-surgical proceduresinto appropriate radiographic procedures with a minimum accuracyrate of 99%.
Maintains patient logs and equipment down time records.
Works closely with radiologist to develop imaging protocol toachieve optimum imaging studies.
Follow the on all "stat" and "emergency" studies as requested.
Maintains a clean, safe, orderly work area, observing allprescribed safety and hygienic procedures established, to avoidpossible injuries, exposure and contamination.
Responsible for maintaining a productivity level within 20% of theFTE monthly average for that modality, which is publicly posted.Exception: Low-volume shifts (nights).
Ensures delivery of excellent customer service resulting inpositive and improving patient satisfaction scores for departmentand Medical Center.
Supplemental Duties and Responsibilities: These are job duties that may be required of you or several other employees in this job title. It is not essential for all employees in this job title to do these functions for the successful operation of your department.
Monitors inventory levels and supplies throughout the departmentand notifies senior technologist of needed supplies
Charge all patient exams on an as needed basis.
Transports patients safely, on the proper transportation device bothto and from the department and other designated areas as needed.
Identifies and trouble shoots all machine malfunctions and reports tosenior technologist on supervision.
Continuously ensures that all charges are properly recorded.
Keeps work area clean and tidy at all times to prevent anyunnecessary injuries to other workers and patients.
Assists patients and families throughout stay.
Assists with the duties of any absentee employee within the CT area.
Cross trains in other areas if applicable.
Performs other duties as assigned.


Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
N.J. state licensed and Board Certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT.
One-year minimum experience.
Organizational and customer service skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
