Job Description:

Position Summary:

Pentair is currently seeking a Product Engineer to investigate, analyze, and determine solutions, design, and implement new product designs and/or technical changes to existing products in order to improve design, performance, cost, or manufacturing methods. In this role, the Product Engineer will lead cross functional teams assembled for new product development and/or existing product improvement. As well as, advise manufacturing, marketing, sales personnel, and customers regarding technical information related to capabilities of our product.Interested candidates, who meet the requirements below, are encouraged to apply today!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate samples, oversee and review testing, and if necessary, recommend modifications of, prototype pumps, impellers and components to release.

  • Develop and maintain software and user interface for test lab data acquisition.

  • Lead cross functional teams to design, develop, test, and release new products to market or redesign existing products.

  • Evaluate competition’s designs, materials, strengths & weaknesses.

  • Generate and maintain product development documentation.

  • Creation of BOM’s and JDE system data

  • Coordinate literature publication by supplying drawings, curves and material lists.

  • To review engineering change requests and to investigate and implement change to include approving vendor’s, parts, drawing changes, bills of material, and material specifications.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • 3 to 7 years of experience with engineered products, industrial equipment, or controls. Centrifugal pumps experience preferred

  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively in a cross functional environment with other engineers, customers, vendors, sales and marketing, and shop personnel.

  • Proficiency with 3D modeling software (Solidworks preferable), programming software such as Labview and computational methods.

  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives, control systems, sensors, PLC programming, and motors.

  • Knowledge of machine tolerances and fits, manufacturing processes, and laboratory testing.
