Position at Zones

The Solution Architect will lead RFP efforts focused on solutions related to Workplace Modernization, Network Optimization, Cloud & Data Center Transformation, Security Fortification, Zones infrastructure, Lifecycle Management service lines. In addition to leading the RFP efforts, you will be responsible for developing the win theme in the most complex environments to ensure optimal implementation of the solution design. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, concise, compelling and competitive solutions to Zones customers and will ensure that the provided technical designs are consistent with business objectives.

The Solution Architect works closely with the Zones sales teams to help grow the profitable sales of infrastructure solutions within a region and/or market. The goal is to help manage the above market growth rate of revenue and gross margins for hardware, software, and services for enterprise product defined as primarily servers, storage, networking, and other advanced technologies. The SA’s role is one of a pre-sales resources to utilize their technology background to lead the consultative discovery of the client/prospect’s business goals, objectives, and challenges and to translate them into effective infrastructure solutions. Your ability to achieve sales and profit goals will transpire through joint account planning, partner teaming (internal & external), on-site client interface/visits, engagement/solution development and implementation support/follow-up. The SA plays a leadership role, by analyzing business requirements, presenting related solutions, and driving the business case and financial justifications. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide winning solutions as part of the Pre-Sales process including responding to formal or informal Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) from existing and prospective clients.

  • Ability to handle Pre-Sales queries for all technical support opportunities in Workplace Modernization, Network Optimization, Cloud & Data Center Transformation, Security Fortification, Zones infrastructure, Lifecycle Management service lines.

  • Support Sales, and Customer Success Managers as the key technical resource to understand customer requirements and provide appropriate solutions

  • Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to understand scope, expectations, technical content and business processes

  • Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts

  • Preparing the SWOT analyses of Zones solution Vs Competition for an RFP

  • Communicate technology, timelines, and architectures to stake holders to ensure the integrations are meeting requirements and stake holder expectations

  • Facilitate lessons learned feedback is captured to drive long term internal improvements and better architectural methods supporting the continuous improvement of Integration Services

  • Relationship management with partners and principles/OEM and hence delivering continuous service and value to customers.

  • Coordinate with organization’s BDM’s, internal service lines, Practices, Account Managers to formulate accurate and timely response to RFP/RFIs. Ensuring Sales Enablement.

  • Front-end solution design in the areas of Workplace Modernization, Network Optimization, Cloud & Data Center Transformation, Security Fortification, Zones infrastructure, Lifecycle Management service lines like Transformation & Migration involving Storage systems – SAN & NAS, Servers Infrastructure, Virtualization, Consolidation, High Availability (HA), Disaster recovery (DR), ILM, De-Duplication, Data Tiering, Backup, Archival, Private cloud and converged / hyper converged platforms.

  • Experience in estimation and costing for System Integration and Managed Services effort.

  • Strong Pre-Sales orientation. Should have breadth of technology understanding with Delivery background.

  • Expertise in infrastructure sizing, design and solution architecture and preparation of BOQ.

  • Strong Pre-Sales or Sales exposure with HP/Dell/IBM/EMC/HDS/NetApp/Cisco/Oracle platform products used in Enterprise Data Centers. This includes making proposals responding to RFP/RFI, doing Due-Diligence and making technical presentations.

We are seeking candidates with following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline; equivalent years of experience is acceptable

  • At least 5 years of experience in an enterprise environment and a minimum of 2 years in a pre-sales technical role

  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills including demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective

  • Understanding of the industry, market, customers, competitors, suppliers, partners and capabilities of the business.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and management.

  • Professional, business-focused attitude and courteous manner towards clients, partners, and peers

  • Ability to travel an average of 15% of the time
