This Medical Assistant position is with American Health Network, a Part of Optum's family medicine office in Noblesville, IN. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.
Prepare examination rooms and sterilizing equipment
Room patients, obtain health history and check vital signs
Administer injections and collect specimens
Maintain and operate lab equipment to perform minor in-office tests
Document patient care using NextGen electronic medical record software
Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, answer calls and complete paperwork
Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with minor, in-office procedures

High School Diploma or GED
Medical Assistant diploma / degree OR 1+ years of experience working as a medical assistant after on-the-job training OR EMT certification
You will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are required to perform this role with patients and members on site, as this is an essential function of this role
Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained
Experience working as a Medical Assistant
Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA)
Experience with NextGen medical record software
Experience with medical back office duties including obtaining vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, administering medications and recording patient medical history
