WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Traffic Engineering Summer Intern for our New York, New York office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide support for traffic data collection and traffic analysis
Support multi-modal analyses and simulation modeling
Support Safety Studies and Parking Studies
Support the preparation of signing and striping plans, constructions staging/maintenance of traffic plans
Traffic signal design, timing development and implementation
Assist in the preparation of supporting written documentation, i.e. memoranda and reports, for studies and design, including those related to Environmental Impact Statements

Currently enrolled in Bacheors or Masters degree program in Civil Engineering or related field of study
Traffic engineering experience and/or class work
Positive attitude and people skills that constitute a team player
Work cooperatively with staff to effectively deliver projects on schedule and within budget
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A desire to pursue a traffic engineering career
Previous relevant internship experience
Experience with VISSIM/VISUM, Synchro, and AutoCAD is desirable, but not required
Experience with local agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANY&NJ is desirable, but not required
