Google Strategy and Operations Manager, Go-to-Market in New York, New York

This role may also be located in our Playa Vista, CA campus.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of work experience, including 3 years of experience in strategy and/or operations consulting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA, advanced degree, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in strategic consulting, sales support, and market research.

  • Experience building relationships with stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and presentation software.

  • Demonstrated business acumen, and the ability to successfully navigate and influence within a complex business environment.

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

The Business Strategy and Operations organization provides business critical insights using analytics, ensuring cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and initiatives forward. Our team stays focused on aligning company priorities with effective day-to-day operations, and helps evolve early stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.

As a Go-to-Market, Strategy and Operations Manager, you will partner closely with the industry director, and you will lead sector-wide or national projects to improve the operations of the Large Customer Sales organization.

The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving Ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.

  • Partner with Industry Director and Head of Industry to develop the industries business plan and Go-to-Market sales strategy.

  • Drive operational logistics for assigned industries, including optimizing resource allocation across pods, measuring progress against sales goals, and facilitating weekly sales management meetings.

  • Identify opportunities to improve Sales team efficiencies and lead efforts to scale best practices across the industry/sector.

  • Participate and help steer global initiatives as appropriate and ensure that global initiatives are rolled out properly within the industry/sector.
