Position Title Staff Associate I

Technologist must be able to perform molecular HLA typing using SSP and/or rSSO Luminxed-based method, and assign HLA class I and class II typing. The technologist must be able to perform serum screening of anti-HLA antibodies by CDC and solid-phase assay. Technologist must be able to perform cross-matching by both CDC and Flow. Technologist is required to serve on-call coverage for deceased donor cross-matching and capable to make independent judgment with minimum supervision.
Minimum Degree Required
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in natural sciences (Chemistry or Biology preferred) plus 5+ years of specialized experience in high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory setting. Prior experience in Histocompatibility testing is a must; experience in immunology and tissue culture is a plus.
NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT) license is a plus but will sponsor for training if necessary.
Ability to communicate effectively in English with colleagues and outside personnel. A good degree of computer literacy (Word processing, Excel spreadsheet, etc.)
