Seeking an experienced Senior Provider Enrollment (Appointments and Promotion) Analyst to join our Faculty and Staff Affairs team at the Mount Sinai Department of Emergency Medicine.
The Senior Provider Enrollment (Appointments and Promotion) Analyst is responsible for seamless onboarding, appointments, and enrollment of physicians and advanced practice providers to include working with the following departments: Dean’s Office, Appointments and Promotions, Medical Staff Credentialing, and Delegated Credentialing.
You will act as a liaison between these departments and the physicians and advanced practice providers. You will work with the finance and other external departments for secondary appointments, site chairs, and site medical directors to ensure all aspects of onboarding and enrollment are completed in a timely manner.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Responsible for complex onboarding of newly recruited physicians and advanced practice providers for department sites with hard-stop time frames for Board of Trustee meetings.
Tracks status of "in process" enrollment forms until final approval received.
Reviews and verifies receipt of all required documents from recruits such as: department onboarding application, educational documents, resumes, licenses, and certifications
Communicates with recruits and other departments to escalate issues, share information, and promote the process of obtaining documentation required for enrollment.
Enrolls and terminates providers with Medicaid, Medicare, and delegated plans.
Manages provider related data entry, edits, and updates in the department database (Intellisoft) and shared drives.
Generates and distributes reports as required (i.e., DEA and license expiration dates, bi-weekly communication to sites for status of onboarding, list of active physicians and advanced practice providers, and Medicare revalidation dates).
Participates in bi-weekly committee meetings with the Medical Staff Department to update statuses of recruits for respective department sites.
Reviews for accuracy faculty transaction paperwork sent to all external departments (i.e., offer letters, PSM 100’s, etc.). Performs internal reviews to confirm appropriate rank and track, salary funding, non-binding term sheets, and job descriptions.
Functions as point of contact and a resource to assist department administration with any inquiries regarding the general operating procedures of the Appointments and Promotions and Dean’s offices.
Leads and educates new employees on departmental procedures with direction of Director and system leadership.
Acts as liaison for the Department to assist in resolving data inconsistencies and provides explanation of processes for onboarding providers. Communicate with Director for corrections and clarifications.
Confirms provider ID numbers for all sites once assigned by governing agencies and performs system updates as appropriate (communicate the ID numbers to billing vendor and update Intellisoft Database).
Monitors billing vendor reports for payer denials caused by issues related to enrollment and follow-up until resolved (i.e., billing vendor hold report).
Provides physicians access to all computer systems (i.e., on-site health, MS Outlook, PEAK, Sinai Central, and EPIC).
Responsible for end-to-end revalidation letter process, downloading list from CMS, obtaining comparison reports from the Medicare Provider Enrollment Database, and scheduling providers for online re-enrollment.
Researches and recommends process improvement for onboarding/enrollment initiatives to benefit department production and provider onboarding metrics with Manager or Director.
Performs special projects, generates metrics, and provide reconciliation, research, and analyses as directed by Management.
Supports activities related to internal and external audits of providers and/or departments.
Coordinates and attends ad hoc committee meetings in the absence of the Director.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent years
4 years of healthcare experience (preferred)
Any prior Enrollment Provider and Credentialing (preferred)
Knowledge of facility based billing/reimbursement methodologies including APCs, as well as knowledge of federal, state and payer specific regulations and policies is a plus
Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, problem solving and organizational skills required.
Ability to maintain high level of accuracy in multiple databases and tracking spreadsheets containing confidential and secure information
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet required deadlines required.
Proven ability to work in a team setting as well as independently.
