The Walt Disney Company Senior Manager, Finance in New York, New York

DMED is seeking a Senior Manager, Finance that will play a key role in supporting the Direct to Consumer business across all Disney streaming platforms (Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, Star+, and Hotstar). This leader will be responsible for driving marketing efficiency measurements of the total marketing budget across the streaming platforms with high level analyses and industry insights. They will manage a small team of dedicated financial professionals focused on optimizing marketing spend to ensure sustainable subscriber growth and partner with Analytics and Marketing teams to identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements.

The pace and cadence for change at DSS necessitates an ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and roll up sleeves to support this important segment of the Disney business.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure optimal spend level and efficient allocation of our Performance, Content and Brand marketing budgets across regions, products, channels and campaigns

  • Provide high-level and more detailed marketing insights to partners and senior management by monitoring industry trends

  • Initiate and prepare ad-hoc and recurring high-level analyses and comparisons of marketing ROI across regions and competitive streaming platforms.

  • Review and track past performance based on our marketing measurement infrastructure provided by the Analytics team

  • Manage the top-down marketing budgeting and forecasting process (monthly/quarterly), in collaboration with the different marketing teams and other Disney Finance teams (incl. Variance analysis and Industry trends reviews)

  • Assist in the development of a self-service data and reporting infrastructure to track marketing spend and efficiency (CPA/SAC vs LTV) against targets, in collaboration with the Marketing Analytics team

  • Develop and evaluate business plans to size opportunities and risks, help interpret trends and results, and serve as sparring partner for our decision makers

  • Build strong partnership with internal stakeholder to resolve issues and advance analysis and forecasting accuracy. This includes: Analytics, Marketing, and Product teams

Basic Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Finance, ideally in direct-to-consumer subscription companies

  • Strong understanding of financial models, ideally with a good understanding of marketing

  • Ability to create new and sophisticated financial models and dashboards

  • Demonstrated success at building strong relationships with other teams (Analytics, Marketing etc.)

  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently

  • Excellent teamwork skills

  • Proven ability to multi-task and deliver under tight deadlines

Required Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)

  • Focus on finance, accounting, or other quantitative field a plus
