Agio Senior Linux Engineer in New York, New York

Job Description

Server Engineer with at least 5 years? experience in the design, implementation, and support of Red Hat and CentOS Linux operating systems with a focus on automation with Ansible and scripting with Python/Bash


  • Automation and configuration management using Ansible

  • Excellent knowledge of the Linux command line

  • Strong knowledge of AWS or GCP public cloud services and provisioning tools.

  • Experience with translating requirements into automation workflows using industry standard frameworks and scripting languages.

Desired Skills

  • Proficiency using REST services to automate tasks

  • Experience with OLTP databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL

  • Understanding of Active Directory and Kerberos

  • Experience with NFS and Samba for security and performance

  • Understanding of Git version control and GitFlow

  • Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation


  • Engineer working as part of a team responsible for the design and implementation of new initiatives

  • Follow Agile practices to work independently, multitask, be highly motivated, and understand deadline requirements

  • Automation of processes to reduce the manual work required by support teams using Enterprise and Open Source tools

  • Provide assistance to DEV and QA groups to include participation in meetings, building out environments, and troubleshoot deployment/configuration related problems

  • Ability to resolve problems in a timely, effective, and professional manner

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the way of formal documentation and status reporting

  • Escalation point for support teams on priority issues
