Venable LLP Regional Marketing Manager in New York, New York

Position Information

Venable LLP is seeking a Regional Marketing Manager to join our Midtown Manhattan office. The Regional Marketing Manager plays a key role in building and executing on business development and marketing strategies for the firm's New York office -- the third largest - and its lawyers who practice across the following practice areas: Advertising and Marketing; Labor and Employment; Intellectual Property (including patent and trademark litigation); Litigation, Corporate, IP, and Tax Transactions; Real Estate; Bankruptcy; Construction; and Wealth Planning. Priorities will be to work with partners across the office on connecting dots and encouraging and supporting a culture of cross-selling and collaboration and raising the profile of the Venable brand in the NY market.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for...
Defining and managing the business development, marketing, and client relations efforts of the San Francisco office to support the firm's goals
Developing formal Request for Proposal (RFP) responses to respond to new business opportunities, expand existing client work and enhance collaboration and cross selling among the firm's various practice groups
Partnering with business development colleagues to coordinate the marketing and business development efforts of assigned attorneys with efforts in other offices and at national firm-wide level
Conducting research and preparing analysis for use by attorneys in enhancing their client or other business relationships and individual marketing efforts
Coordinating with marketing team to develop, design and maintain marketing materials
Partnering with Public Relations team and external public relations firm to develop and execute story ideas and other materials for public relations and marketing efforts
Partnering with timekeepers to collect, maintain and update experience and to record business development efforts/initiatives; preparing related reports/analysis
The successful candidate will demonstrate...
A Bachelor's degree in related field or education/experience equivalent
A minimum of five years of marketing and business development experience; prior management experience is encouraged
An ability to bring a strategic outlook as well as a strong executional prowess
Significant experience with project management involving numerous colleagues, other firm business professionals, and timekeepers
Experience using current Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office applications
Experience with customer relationship management tools, ideally InterAction, and e-marketing platforms, ideally Vuture, preferred
Ability to develop, manage, and execute marketing, business development, and client relations plans
Skills in developing, analyzing, and counseling attorneys on marketing opportunities
Ability to coordinate multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines and business objectives
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of data and develop reports for tracking and reporting on activities and outcomes
