Responsibilities:

Provide strategic and tactical insights that inform design and development

Participate in strategic product research and analysis, always striving to deeply know and understand the customers who will be using your products

Synthesize research to identify product use cases and user types

Create narratives to frame problems and highlight the business value of potential solutions

Be a strategic business partner to key executives, helping shape their long-term vision

Partner fully with product owners, designers and engineers to provide the best possible experience for our users and customers

Work on fast-paced projects, requiring attention to detail and working within constrained timelines

Minimum Requirements:

5+ years of relevant work experience in UX and research

Ability to work confidently and creatively on ambiguous problems

Experience working in cross-functional teams (e.g. design, product management, engineering)

Proven track record influencing product direction and strategy with actionable insights

Solid understanding of best practices for conducting research (qualitative and quantitative) in user experience, product design, or technology contexts

Ability to plan, design, execute and communicate both strategic and tactical research engagements

Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills

B.A./B.S. or M.A./M.S. in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Sociology, Design, Business or a related degree

Bonus: Experience leading, coaching, or managing individual contributors (ideally researchers) welcome

Bonus: Experience in relevant industry domain (i.e. marketing, e-commerce, content management)

We are looking for a Principal User Researcher to join the 'Cross-Cloud' team. The 'Cross-Cloud' Research & Insights team works on projects that span Salesforce's entire product portfolio, tackling broad, fast-paced initiatives, and generating insights to inform some of the company's top priorities. The ideal candidate for this role enjoys creating clarity from ambiguity, balancing agility with rigor, and gaining a deep understanding of business needs.

Industries Cloud

We are looking for a Lead or Principal User Researcher to join Industries Cloud–a major growth engine for Salesforce. Our team informs the product development of industry-specific solutions for millions of end-users across a broad range of (https://www.salesforce.com/solutions/industries/) businesses. For example, in response to the pandemic, the team’s insights informed the launch of the work.com platform (including Contact Tracing) to assist both public and private communities as they reopen. Bonus: Experience in the Sustainability and/or Communication & Media industry domains.

Platform

We are seeking a Lead or Principal Researcher to focus on the Salesforce Platform - the building blocks for our Cloud product suite. As part of the Platform team, your work can span across all our product areas including mobile, automation, adoption, engagement, and services. You will be advocating for the needs of various users focused on many of our user types, such as sales representatives, team leaders, and system administrators who set up the tools and processes. Your research insights will help our product teams build the right tools for the right people.
