POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

As part of the Afognak Human Resources Department, the Industrial / Organizational Psychology Paraprofessional Intern is responsible for supporting the Talent Management Director to build and execute organization-wide talent strategies, plans, programs and processes that align talent needs and business objectives. The employee will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to help build a comprehensive talent management program from the ground up.The organization has experienced decades of high growth and is in need of new talent strategy, processes, tools and systems.This is a unique opportunity to support a company that is in a simultaneous state of startup, growth and maturity.

Industrial and Organizational Psychology Paraprofessional Interns will work on a variety of projects which could include: Talent strategy & roadmap creation, Job audit/analysis including essential physical demands and job families, Selection assessments, Competency modeling, Diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and justice, Talent communities, Thought leadership and communication, and Program development.

Talent Management programs are needed in a variety of areas to create solutions to major organizational challenges.Solutions could include Leadership development, Internship, Work-based learning, Onboarding, Performance management and Succession planning.

Works with team members in other areas of Human Resources as part of an integrated talent management framework.

Performs research, evaluation and analysis and identifies opportunities, gaps, themes and trends. Works with a bias toward action, influence and experimentation using emerging and evidence-based models of practice.

Utilizes continuous process improvement, project and change management, and human centered design methodologies to maximize the effectiveness of talent strategies and programs.

Ensures that project milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved budget.

Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state regulations, as well as company policies. Leads projects as assigned in accordance with HR annual goals and objectives.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Must be enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, an Industrial and Organizational Psychology Doctoral program.

Must be able to work up to 20 hours per week. Working hours are Monday - Friday during normal business hours (Central Time). This is a temporary position. Work hours will be adjusted as appropriate for interns who are enrolled in school.

This is a temporary remote/virtual position and the selected candidate must be able to commit to up to a 12 month assignment with an option to extend the assignment at Afognak's discretion.

This internship provides for a time-limited role at Afognak with no express or implied guarantee of future employment beyond the assignment period. This position is governed by all applicable administrative policies, practices and procedures related to temporary employees.
