Book of the Month Director of Supply Chain in New York, New York

Book of the Month is looking for a Director of Supply Chain to lead all aspects of our operations. We are seeking a leader who has a proven track-record of scaling operations, driving cost efficiencies, maintaining quality, and delivering a world-class customer experience. With many aspects of our operations (and software) in-house, an action-oriented leader will have the opportunity to shape the organization and drive results first-hand. The Director of Supply Chain will report to the COO and will be a key driver of Book of the Month?s continued rapid growth.

About the role:

  • Drive improvements across our supply chain and e-commerce operations, from ?click-to-ship? and from ?ship-to-delivery.?

  • Identify opportunities for improvement by analyzing data and building and presenting succinct analytical business cases to leadership and colleagues.

  • Develop standardized reporting in order to monitor, communicate, and improve upon important operating metrics across service levels, throughput, cost, and quality.

  • Deliver results by acting as a disciplined and visible project manager for our most important operational initiatives.

  • Work closely with the business applications software team to build the software capabilities required to support and execute our projects/operations efficiently.

  • Partner with Finance to develop the cycle forecast which drives all aspects of our operations.

  • Work closely with our in-house warehouse and member services teams to create staffing and scheduling plans that match our highly variable demand forecast.

  • Actively manage our vendor relationships to achieve our business objectives

  • Hire, train and develop an extraordinary team of operations professionals

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years in operations and/or supply chain. Consumer facing e-commerce experience, or strategy/operational consulting experience at a top firm is strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor?s required, engineering or other analytical discipline strongly preferred.

  • Strong excel modeling skills are required. You?ve personally built and owned large, complex operating models and used them to make business decisions.

  • Top-notch project management skills. You?ve acted as project manager on multiple large and small scale projects occurring simultaneously. You have a strong POV on how to manage projects.

  • Experience working with in-house engineering and product teams to build-out software to support operations
