Cigna Data & Analytics Lead User Experience Designer in New York, New York

Cigna, a leading Health Services company, is looking for a Lead User Experience Designer in our Data & Analytics (D&A) organization. In this role, you’ll be a key member of our innovation and machine learning lab, solving complicated problems through simple designs. You’ll contribute to our product strategy, design culture, and build meaningful tools to improve insurance and healthcare for millions of people.

As a Design Lead, you’ll manage and mentor a team of talented UX designers and researchers. You’re a great big picture thinker, able to draw from a wealth of experience to give insightful recommendation about when and how to apply the design process, but you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty conducting research, wireframing, or prototyping when needed.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of 5 UX Designers

  • Scope work and contribute to product strategy

  • Evangelize design through close partnership with Product and Engineering leadership

  • Hold workshops to align project strategy and vision

  • Some hand-on UX Design and Visual Design as needed

Skills

  • 5-7+ years’ experience working in UX/Product Design, experience designing enterprise or data-heavy applications preferred.

  • 1-3 years management experience

  • Experience with Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD

  • Experience delivering and iterating on creative solutions

  • Ability to think creatively and ask questions

  • Ability to communicate at various levels within large organizations

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.

  • Ability to understand and communicate business needs and requirements, especially understanding what users truly need vs. what they believe they need

  • Knowledge and/or experience with Health care or data-heavy applications, domains a plus

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in UX/UI, Design, or related field strongly preferred
