Description

You're a good fit for Robert Half's Controller position with a reputable Legal company, if you have a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting and clerical department. You might be a good fit for this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Responsibilities:

  • Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

  • Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

  • Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

  • Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required

  • Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Economics

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
