The Markets Coverage Group (MCG) is seeking an investment professional with knowledge across a broader range of asset classes and products to deliver high-touch sales and trading coverage to our family office and private clients.

OUR IMPACT

The Markets Coverage Group (MCG) partners with select clients of our Consumer and Investment Management division to deliver high-touch sales and trading coverage and investment advice. Our clients include family offices, ultra-high net worth individuals, and select institutions. We provide access, advice, and cross-asset execution to our clients. The sales and trading offering spans equities, equity derivatives, credit / fixed income, interest rates, foreign exchange, commodities, and a wide range of listed and over-the-counter derivatives. MCG covers a diverse range of family offices and ultra-high net worth clients including entrepreneurs, senior executives, and registered investment advisors.The team is looking for a sales trading professional with strong interpersonal skills who has the ability to thrive in an environment where innovative thinking, market knowledge, and strong work ethic are essential to building and growing a successful business.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Apply your unique background and experiences to develop deep relationships with clients and help grow the business

  • Leverage and enhance your investment acumen through generating and discussing trade ideas across the capital structure with clients

  • Create innovative solutions for a fast paced and growing transactional business

  • Access the global resources of Goldman Sachs to address a wide range of client priorities

  • Work closely with Private Wealth Advisors to support and expand existing client relationships

WHERE WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

The Markets Coverage Group in New York works primarily with Private Wealth Management clients and advisors across the US and Latin America. MCG also works closely with our counterparts based in London and Hong Kong, who work with clients across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3-7 years of experience in sales and/or trading in public capital markets

  • Knowledge and/or experience with a broad range of products including fixed income, equities, FX, commodities, and/or derivatives across asset classes and structured products

  • Record of academic and professional achievement

  • Demonstrated interest in financial, economic and global capital markets

  • Entrepreneurial spirit coupled with a desire to work in a team-oriented environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and foster a strong network of relationships

  • Creative approach to problem solving and developing innovative solutions for clients

  • Strong client focus, business development and relationship management skills

  • Strong analytical and communication (oral and written) skills

  • Commitment to excellence and a high level of integrity

  • Successful completion of Series 7, 66, 55, and 3 exams required within three months of starting at the firm
