IBM Associate Partner - Cloud Advisory in New York, New York

Your Role and Responsibilities

At IBM Global Business Services (GBS), we are looking for an Associate Partner (AP) Cloud Advisory to join IBM’s Cloud Advisory Distribution practice. In this role, the individual will collaborate and advise with our strategic accounts and key stakeholders in our Retail, Consumer Package Goods and Travel & Transportation industries. Team members need to possess a diverse IT Transformation, Cloud Technology and Management Consulting background and industry knowledge. This establishes credibility as an IBM advisor to our clients, business and technology partners and internally across our IBM account portfolio.

The qualified candidate will have experience in the following areas:

  • The ideal candidate will be able to craft a forward-looking cloud adoption and application modernization strategy for our clients while clearly outlining the supporting architecture, business case and strategic roadmap to achieve this vision.

  • Help our customers lead the changes to IT strategy, policies, processes, people, governance and partnerships in a multi-cloud, hybrid cloud environment.

  • We are seeking outcome driven and customer obsessed experts who are passionate about:

  • Engaging with C-level executives to define Enterprise cloud strategies.

  • Maintaining C-Suite and line-of-business relationships within the customer organization to become a trusted advisor

  • Demonstrated experience working with Distribution clients to help with their Cloud Strategy and Transformational needs

  • Possessing and communicating in-depth knowledge of industry IT trends

  • Analyzing application portfolios, identifying dependencies & common infrastructure platform components, and assessing migration feasibility

  • Architecting hybrid and Multi-cloud solutions for technology clusters and patterns.

  • Cost/Benefit modeling and creating compelling business cases for migration

  • Generating Cloud migration roadmaps and driving buy-in across complex organization structures

  • Collaborating with consulting and managed services partners to build and execute plans

  • Developing and promoting governance models supporting the consistent use of cloud technologies aligned to institutional strategies and policies

  • Understanding customer business drivers and strategies, architectures, cloud adoption roadmaps, operating models, KPIs, to measure and monitor benefits realization

  • Influence industry-thinking through current technology trends mixed with IBM best practices

This is a customer-facing role. You will have key performance metrics focused on selling, delivery leadership and utilization. The role will require travel to client locations to deliver professional services when allowed and/or needed.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 10 years of IT consulting experience in both customer-facing delivery and sales roles

  • Track record of business development and sales experience for consulting services

  • Experience in two or more of the following transformation practice areas: Business case and use case development, Multicloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, RedHat) technical experience. Business/ Process / IT Architectures, Strategy Development, Executive agenda items and metrics

  • Hands on experience leading large scale digital and cloud-based transformational projects

  • Experience with Distribution (Retail, CPG or Travel & Transportation) Clients

  • Experience on creating board-quality final work products

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Previous Big Consulting Experience

  • Possess RedHat, Azure, AWS or GCP Certifications

  • Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestitures experience

  • Demonstrated industry leadership in area of IT Operations, Cloud Computing, or IT Strategy

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to manage numerous, competing demands from internal and external stakeholders and Customers.

  • Demonstration of relevant thought leadership (publications, blogs, speaking engagements, etc.)
