The Boeing Test & Evaluation Engineering Team is looking for a Mid-Level Test & Evaluation Engineer - Manufacturing to support the NASA Space Launch Systems Core Stage production based at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, LA . This role will support the planning and coordination of work orders/work instructions in the factory throughout all stages of production to ensure successful build and test of the core stage assemblies.

This position is primarily 1st shift; however, periodic shift change may be required to support variable shifts, including weekends, overtime and some rotating shifts during active test phases.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Functional Test Engineering team as the Manufacturing Engineer focal

  • Review test procedures for compliance with test requirements and integration into build sequences

  • Author work instructions/redlines to support test execution in Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

  • Supports the development and verification of test methods

  • Develops detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan

  • Uses analytical tools to verify the design

  • Reviews test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer

  • Trains others

  • Works under general supervision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 3+ years of experience in Test or Build of a Space Vehicle System (Shuttle, Delta, SLS, etc)

  • 3+ years of experience using manufacturing tools (MESci, etc)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering

  • Experience working with NASA customers

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
