Gillman Home Center Part Time Cashier in New Castle, Indiana

The cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service to our customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides excellent customer service to customers, team members and vendors.

  • Greets all customers.

  • Provides a fast and effective check-out transaction.

  • Answers company phone.

  • Stocks items around check-out counter.

  • Cuts keys for customers.

  • Cleans/sweeps store.

  • Makes sure outdoor area is clean and sale signs are visible.

  • Provides timely and accurate information to incoming customer order status and product knowledge requests.

  • Processes customer orders/changes/returns according to established store policies and procedures.

  • Provides timely feedback to the company regarding service failures or customer concerns.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a hardware and retail environment. This role routinely uses equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Should be able to lift 20 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a part-time position. Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends as needed.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Customer service experience.

  • Computer experience.

  • Retail work experience.
