The Accounts Payable Accountant will handle complex full-cycle AP, so a minimum of 3-5+ years in AP is required. Ideal candidates will have experience using Great Plains or will have significant software experience and technical skills.
This is a smaller organization so an ideal candidate will have a personality that will fit well with a smaller, family friendly office with a lot of interaction.

Handle administrative tasks for the AP/Finance Department
Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling
Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents
Assist internal business partners with any customer services needs
Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis
Accurately execute daily processes and controls in a timely manner while ensuring company policies are followed
Complete special projects on an as-needed basis
Conduct full-cycle A/P
Provide internal and external audit assistance as required
Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
Practical knowledge of journal entries
Adeptness in Sales Tax
Enter Vendor Invoices experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Purchase Orders
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
Strong familiarity with general ledger
Microsoft Great Plains Accounting experience highly desired
Manage Vendor Relationships experience
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
3+ years of experience in A/P required
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds
