The AMETEK Chemical Products Division (CPD) consists of two businesses, Fluoropolymer Products and Westchester Plastics. Westchester Plastics is a leader in the production of an array of specialty compounds for leading plastic compounders and resin producers in the US in many industries. Westchester plastics is located in Nesquehoning, PA.
Westchester Plastics is hiring a Production Manager who will focus on maintaining an injury free workplace while directing the daily activities of all production operations for a unionized workforce across three shifts. The Production Manager will report to the Plant Manager and oversee a team of production supervisors and hourly colleagues in manufacturing, and work closely with colleagues in maintenance, and quality. The Production Manager will use data driven decision making to adhere to production schedules, maximize equipment uptime, effectively utilize manpower and ensure product quality to demanding standards.
The Production Manager must provide technical leadership in polymer and chemical extrusion processing and troubleshooting. The successful candidate will have worked in production leadership, process/manufacturing engineering or continuous improvement.
Finally, the Production Manager will lead continuous improvement activities that reduce risk of injuries, increase productivity and quality, and lower manufacturing costs.
The plant operates is a dynamic, customer focused environment where priorities change often. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast paced, multi shift environment where smoothly transferring between duties is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field of study.
• Experience with a labor union desirable but not required
• Prior supervisor experience highly preferred
• Experience in polymer compounding, material processing or in a direct manufacturing facility is preferable.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance and facilities operations
• Experience operating in an ISO9001 facility
