Description
Your Role :
As a housekeeping cleaning tech you will be performing general cleaning tasks within and outside of our adult hospital. One of the most important duties of the housekeeping clearning tech is to clean patient rooms and provide a safe environment for our patients. You will interact on a daily basis with them to offer excellent customer service and a positive impression of our hospital to them, their family members, and our guests. Your goal will be to clean both empty and occupied patient rooms in a timely manner with a compassionate, caring spirit. The housekeeping cleaning tech may remove solid and/or biohazardous trash. Must have the ability to become knowledgeable of chemicals, procedures, and equipment used in completing assigned tasks during the environmental training period.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleans assigned area according to established procedures
Uses chemicals and supplies appropriately and correctly
Reports light outages and other maintenance needs to supervisor
Equipment Operation
Uses buffers, extractors, vacuums safely and correctly
Uses buckets, wringers, and other non-electrical equipment correctly
Cleans and maintains equipment daily to ensure correct and proper operation
Customer Service
Collects soiled linen and pillows in public waiting areas
Greets visitors cheerfully and offers assistance as needed
Interfaces with other staff in a friendly, professional manner
Department/Unit Summary
As an Environmental Services Department at Vanderbilt Medical Center, we are dedicated to maintaining a healthy and clean environment for our patients and family members. We have a very diverse department with team members who enjoy what they do and are excited about being a part of the Vanderbilt family. We sustain a high cleaning standard by employing a nine-step cleaning process while training on proper chemical use, proper protective equipment, and patient safety. The Environmental Services Team is responsible for ensuring the hospital environment is patient ready and our team is full of employees who are always willing to help!
Position Shift:
Various
1st shift - hrs. 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Discharge Team 1 - hrs. 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Discharge Team 2 - hrs. 12:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
2nd shift - hrs. 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
3rd shift - hrs. 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.
All positions are full-time, 40 hours per week
All positions involve working every other weekend and rotating holidays
