Job Description:

This individual is responsible for financial reporting and analysis in support of program objectives, including: 1) forecasting and analysis of program schedules, scope, and resources, 2) developing and monitoring financial estimate to complete (ETC) and estimate at completion (EAC), and 3) reporting on program performance, both internally and to customers. This individual will work as part of a cross functional team to develop integrated schedules and cost budgets for programs and then analyzes performance against budgets, reports monthly status, and advises the cross functional team -- particularly program management -- on significant deviations or trends against forecasts.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare documentation and clearly communicates connections between program work breakdown structures (WBS), statement of work (SOW), schedules, and resource estimates

  • In direct support of program management, conduct analysis of planned vs actual and financial performance data for programs. Review financial information and coordinate with PM to obtain corrective action from the responsible work package manager.

  • As part of a cross functional team, coordinate development of realistic contract estimates at completion (EAC)

  • Maintain financial data within the ERP system

  • Prepare financial reports for assigned contracts:

  • Analyze, review and communicate to management, cost and schedule variances

  • Coordinate the collection and analysis of data and prepares required submittals to customers in a timely manner

  • Prepare cost/schedule status reports (CSSR) and cost performance reports (CPR's), (EVMS, Government financial reporting)

  • Monthly program review support including preparing presentation data

  • Coordinate, develop, prepares and maintain procedures and processes related to cost and schedule control

  • Assist in creating and revising program Statements of Work

  • Supplement proposal estimating activity by supporting cost proposals throughout the entire proposal process, including request for proposal (RFP) review, proposal preparation, WBS & SOW development, internal review, government audits, customer fact finding, contract negotiation, project budgeting and post proposal analysis.

  • Prepare and maintain financial details within the ERP system and in accordance with SOX requirements

  • Special projects as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Program Management with 4 years minimum experience

  • Excellent skills with Excel

  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Experience with developing, tracking, and reporting cost & schedule information, preferably in an EVMS environment.

  • Cost Forecasting and Budgeting experience

  • Team player; strong interpersonal, communication (verbal/written), and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects, address issues, and work towards meeting competing deadlines with minimal oversight or supervision

  • Ability to work with all levels of management

  • Analytical, and detail oriented; must be flexible and able to work with diverse groups

  • Willing to work overtime as required - must be willing to put in additional effort when required to meet deadlines

  • Must be able to move freely, with or without accommodations, throughout the manufacturing environment

  • Must be able to obtain DOD Security Clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Prior experience with FAR/DFARs, TINA, CAS, Earned Value and other US Government contracting requirements

  • Previous experience in cost estimating or proposal preparation

  • Experience with cost-reimbursable, multi-year engineering development programs

  • Experience with defense contracting in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with Infor Visual Manufacturing (VM), Visual Enterprise (VE)

  • Prior experience in managing programs or large and complex projects
