Job Description:
Contributes to the positive relationships between providers and the organization by supporting and assisting participating providers and Provider Relations Representatives with removal of barriers and resolution of issues. Provides any necessary administrative support to Provider Relations Representatives.
Job Essentials
Demonstrates a high level of performance by contributing to positive relationships with providers by opening, documenting, researching, and resolving issues brought directly by providers or through Provider Relations Representatives.
Provides administrative support to Provider Relations Representatives in a proactive manner.
Represents the Provider Relations department in meetings with other departments to discuss updates and changes. Acts as a liaison or coordinator between the Provider Relations department and other departments.
Works with other departments regarding training and participates in team committees.
Acts as a resource by answering individual questions, both internal and external, including payments, panel changes, directories, website, and assisting with research and problem solving.
Assists in documentation of department policies and procedures. Identifies policy and procedure issues and may recommend and document changes to policy.
May coordinate small projects related to department systems, processes, procedures, training and quality improvement.
Identifies opportunities for improvement. Assists in quality improvement efforts within department by assisting in the development and implementation of necessary program and process improvements.
Under the direction of the Provider Relations Representative, attends internal and/or external meetings for and/or with the Provider Relations Representative. May make on-site visits to provider offices as needed.
Wage: $16.50/hour + depending on experience

Minimum Qualifications
Two years experience in the health care insurance industry.

Demonstrated understanding of word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using the Facets program.

Basic understanding of ICD9, CPT, and HCPC coding.

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Ability to communicate sensitive information to customers.

Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
- and -
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and time and work load management skills.

Sound judgment and decision-making.
- and -
Demonstrated willingness and initiative to assist in any way necessary to achieve department objectives and has the ability to work with minimal supervision.
