KBR Image Processing Engineer in Mountain View, California

Title:

Image Processing Engineer

The Robust Software Engineering Group at the NASA Ames Research Center is developing the R-RAV rover in order to demonstrate a range of autonomous technologies (such as centerline tracking, serving as a proxy for aircraft surface operations). We are seeking a candidate to develop image processing software for the rover. The rover software includes a critical image processing component, which will have to be made robust. The main implementation of it will be done using neural networks, and time permitting, will also have a backup system that will be triggered by runtime monitors, and based on more traditional image processing techniques (for example, using numerical partial differential equation solving methods).

Mus be US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field.

  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++ or Python.

  • Experience implementing signal processing algorithms

Other Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with software testing techniques

  • Experience developing autonomous applications

  • Experience implementing neural-network based applications
