Google Director, Product and Operations Excellence, gTech Commerce in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in business, computer science, and/or engineering.

  • 15 years of experience delivering projects, running support operations, driving process improvements, and building organizational alignment with stakeholders.

  • 10 years of people management experience, including experience managing managers.

  • Experience managing geographically-distributed global teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in management consulting, technology strategy, project delivery management and/or user support operations.

  • Ability to work well across multiple organizations and products, building relationships in order to negotiate and deliver on joint objectives and key results.

  • Ability to think innovatively, problem solve systematically, and collaborate cross-functionally in order to solve ambiguous problems.

  • Ability to foster an inclusive and diverse environment.

  • Excellent leadership and prioritization capabilities with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

The gTech Users and Products Payments, Next Billion Users and Commerce (PNC) Products and Operations Excellence team’s mission is to ensure PNC products succeed by driving step-function improvements in cost, quality and customer experience. We focus on reducing the need for users to rely on consumer, merchant, and partner support, while also ensuring the best, most efficient experience when they do. We centralize and operate common processes to ensure an efficient, effective and aligned strategy across our PNC product engagements.

In this role, you'll lead an organization focused on representing our users and partners, while collaborating closely with senior leaders across the cross-functional gTech and Product Area (PA) leadership teams team to deliver on the business strategy. You'll keep the big picture in focus while reviewing the product and business challenges of your stakeholders, partners, and consumers. Finally, you'll be a thought partner and an inspiring leader to your team, driving the organization to continuously influence product strategy, prioritize the highest impact projects, make data-driven recommendations, and create compelling business reviews for executive stakeholders.

Additional Information

(Colorado only*) Minimum salary of $252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

*Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.

  • Lead a US and EMEA-based team which operates the governance, metrics, regulatory compliance, self-help, serviceability, and tools productivity programs.

  • Represent the perspective of the user, provide strategic insights, and lead continuous improvement efforts to develop a customer-focused support organization and product strategy.

  • Collaborate with leaders across gTech and in the product, engineering, program management, finance organizations to create shared success objectives and deliver on business goals.

  • Grow and develop a high-performing organization while providing vision and setting direction; successfully inspire and lead the team through ambiguity and change in an extremely dynamic environment.

  • Drive knowledge sharing and a consistent strategy across the various gTech Users and Products, Payments Next-Billion-Users and Commerce product-focused teams.
