The internship program provides opportunities to gain practical work experience in a business environment. As a full-time, paid intern, you will be engaged in a variety of projects, and responsible for delivering results, both as an individual and as a member of a team. The internship program begins with orientation and training, which will provide you with all the necessary information and resources to ensure your success over the course of the 12-week program. After orientation, you will begin to work with your assigned manager and team on various projects throughout your internship; you will receive ongoing feedback, as well as formal performance reviews. In your final weeks at Change Healthcare, you will participate in a presentation to senior leadership, reviewing the projects in which you have been engaged and the value you have added to the organization. Every aspect of this internship program is designed to enhance professional development.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?The Data Analyst Intern will utilize data analysis techniques and healthcare domain knowledge to analyze and synthesize data, construct data analytics processes, and develop information necessary to guide Change Healthcare’s clients in their business decision making process. The position involves the ability to learn risk adjustment for Medicare, Medicaid, or Commercial ACA, along with database structures to do analytical work on behalf of our health plan clients. This position requires analytical skills and the ability to independently research business, technical, and application-related questions. This analyst will be responsible for the creation of custom reports and custom analytics using SQL and Python as well as other data analysis and visualization tools.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
· Current college student entering junior or senior year pursuing a degree in a quantitative discipline such as Management Information Systems, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Analytics or Computer Science is desired. Other majors will be considered if candidates have relevant experience or coursework that shows analytics skills
· Minimum GPA of 3.0
· Strong PC skills
What critical skills are needed for you to consider someone for this position?
· Working knowledge of SQL, relevant software statistic packages and visualization suites
· Ability to work with large amounts of data, including checks for integrity, and summation
· Effective communication (written and verbal) to internal and external constituents
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
· Experience with Python, AWS, visualization suites- Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.
· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
· “Self-starter” attitude with the ability to excel in remote work environment
· Ability to manage multiple priorities
· Outstanding problem-solving skills
