The NextGen Ag project manager has shared responsibilities for business development, project development and execution, and developing multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams. This is a flexible role which requires identifying potential issues and improvements as well as executing them. The role includes managing all aspects of service-only as well as design-build/EPC projects across the PM triangle (scope, cost, schedule), while managing risk and quality. This includes responsibility throughout the project lifecycle, including safety, presales support, proposal approach and development, client management, planning, resourcing, contractual compliance, financial metrics, and client satisfaction. Business development responsibilities include conducting market research and identifying, strategizing, approaching, and building relationships with potential and existing clients. The project manager responds to RFPs and develops and presents proposals. Project manager is responsible for resourcing and staffing; building and leading teams of multidisciplinary professionals as well as third-party contractors. Business acumen is necessary to negotiate commercial terms and managing receivables, contracts and legal issues.
The NextGen Ag team currently has a physical presence in Kansas City, Denver, San Francisco, and Atlanta, but is supported by and draws on B&V professionals throughout the US and internationally. Remote/virtual office is an option.
Business Development – Identify and pursue opportunities, respond to RFPs, proposal development
Project Development and Execution
Team Building and Development – Multidisciplinary, cross-functional resource identification and development
Client Management – Relationship building, identifying opportunities for new and repeat business, navigating organizations, managing expectations
Profit & Loss Responsibility – On a project basis
Project Management – Scope, Cost, Schedule, Quality
Commercial – Negotiation, Contracting, Legal, Financial
Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.
Design-build project management experience. Process scale-up experience desired.
10 years experience as a project manager
Sanitary/hygienic design experience
Food, beverage, and/or pharmaceutical experience
Experience building and developing teams within a matrix organization
Experience working with startup companies
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in a core engineering field, preferably mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering
Experience: 5 years experience as a project manager in an engineering services or construction environment, with capital project experience.
All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Project Management Professional (PMP) desired
Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus
OSHA 30 is a plus
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation). Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of time, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
