The Product Planner is responsible for the order fulfillment process; including contract review, order entry, procurement of material from outside suppliers, and scheduling of the customer orders through the manufacturing process to meet or exceed the customer delivery requirements. The Product Planner also assists in the sales effort by assisting in the development, processing and coordination of data with current accounts, as well as assisting in the procurement of new business opportunities. The Product Planner supports multiple projects and works with cross-functional teams to achieve total customer satisfaction and in an effort to continue the ISO 9001 certification by meeting quality standards and procedures. Job Functions *Represents plant as first contact with customer *Interprets customer releases into usable information for order entry and scheduling *Completes contract review of all purchase orders and act on any discrepancies *Works with manufacturing to develop and maintain a production schedule *Relays all customer requests for change to the appropriate disciplines *Works with Sales to develop monthly forecasts and adjust when release information indicates changes *Assists sales efforts by addressing customer requests/concerns, gathering pertinent quoting information, participating in APQP meetings, addressing open issues as assigned *Acts as liaison between the customer and WSC concerning new order requirements, changes and open issues *Orders raw material/purchased parts as needed per the production schedule *Contacts suppliers on open releases and/or assists in the expediting of material *Monitors inventory adjustments and conducts physical counts when needed *Works with Shipping to develop and maintain shipping schedule *Completes all computer-generated input/outputs that are related to position *Resolves customer/supplier debit memos and credits *Creates a culture of open communication, trust, continuous improvement and performance with internal and external customers. *ISO 9001 support. *Performs other duties as assigned Outcomes *Development and maintenance of customer satisfaction *On-time delivery of products and information, which includes timely response and closure of open issues, EDI, ASN and quote information *Maintenance of production schedule maximizing machine/manpower utilization and minimizing overtime or downtime due to stock outs *Company inventory turn goals met or exceeded by maintaining an effective production schedule and working with suppliers to purchase goods that will be consumed in days versus weeks or months *Daily error-free invoicing *Error-free order entry by conducting daily review of customer orders, releases and forecasts *Promotion and participation in continuous improvement activities with respect to quality, cost and delivery *On-time completion of assigned tasks and responsibilities *Expected profit margin obtained be creating each production work order to produce the greatest amount of pieces and releasing to the customer the quoted release quantities.
