Hiller Companies Marine Technician in Mobile, Alabama

Hiller Systems, a division of The Hiller Companies, Inc., is a national leader in the Fire Protection and Security industry and has an immediate opening for a Marine Technician in Mobile AL.

Required Skills:

  • Experience working in the Marine Industry.

  • Knowledge of basic safety standards with the ability to learn industry standards.

  • Self-motivated to learn codes and regulations associated with marine fire protection.

  • Effective customer service and communication skills.

  • Detail oriented and strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Working knowledge of test equipment.

  • Strong work ethic and integrity.

  • Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and lift equipment.

  • Proficient in the use of computer programs such as Word, Excel, & Outlook and the ability to work on tablet/phone-based applications.


Under the direction of a Supervisor the duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist in performing firefighting inspections per USCG and ABS Codes.

  • Learn and Understand the ?Scope of Work? for all inspections.

  • Utilize smart device application to manage / schedule inspection documentation.

  • Complete all required paperwork and upload to data base.

  • Document required deficiencies and items required for repair.

  • Ability to lift and move equipment and tools with assistance weighing up to 300 lbs.

  • Manage customer expectations to maintain excellent customer relations.

  • Good time-management skills.

  • Ability to work well with others.

  • Ability to work odd hours on occasion.


  • MUST have minimum high school diploma/GED

  • MUST have a valid driver?s license with a clean driving record

  • Ability to work a full time schedule

  • Overtime maybe required with a short notice.

  • Ability to pass a Government background check.

  • Ability to adhere to the drug and alcohol policy.
