Citigroup Tech Lead Java Developer in Mississauga, Ontario
The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
Work on a next-generation credit check platform in line with strategic business goals:
Build and rollout the platform for new systems thus expanding client footprint
Extend platform functionalities for existing systems per business requirements
Expand platform processing capabilities by improving performance and stability
Develop and deliver on application components to meet business needs
Participate in architectural design and review of key application components
Provide technical leadership to other development team members
Co-ordinate with the global team on platform build-out
Work closely with the business stakeholders on requirements analysis and solution design
Assist local leads in project estimation, planning, and resource management
Key Relationships :
Credit Risk Management/Credit Delivery Team
Business stakeholders across different asset classes – Equities, FX, Commodities, Rates, GSP, etc.
Corresponding Technology partners from the above-mentioned asset classes
Application Development team
Front Line Production Support
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience developing on a distributed, high volume, global application in the financial industry (preferably on a trading platform)
Strong grasp of fundamental computer science concepts: data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and object-oriented design
Proficiency in enterprise level application development using J2EE, Oracle (or comparable database) and Messaging infrastructure like Solace, Kafka, Tibco EMS
Good knowledge of Distributed databases/ Caching technologies like Gemfire, Apache Ignite, Couchbase
Knowledge of core banking/financial services systems and processes – especially trade life cycle and processing and front-to-back office processes for Capital Markets asset classes like FX, Equities, Rates, etc.
Knowledge of full software development and testing lifecycle
Real-time, high frequency, low latency trading system experience is a strong plus
Credit Risk, Margin Trading knowledge is a plus
HTML 5/Angular JS experience is a plus
FIX protocol, Socket communication experience is a plus

Leadership with the ability to see the whole picture without losing attention to detail
Ability to interface with varied groups like Senior Management, Internal Audit, External Regulators
Strong relationship management skills with the ability to effectively handle conflicts and negotiations
Ability to resolve user queries related to application and analyse/provide quick solution to production issues/queries
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Capability of multi-tasking and working under pressure
Ability to target delivery dates and work with minimum supervision
Self-driven person with a problem-solving attitude
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience preferably with a Computer Science background
Master’s degree preferred
Java certification is a plus
