The Commons, located in Minneapolis, is the headquarters of Allina Health, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. The Supervisor Close and Consolidation provides day to day leadership to a team of Accountants and draws on a deep understanding of the work of the team, processes, and workflow to provide technical guidance. These staff are responsible for accounting’s close and consolidation processes including performing all system related activities, testing and implementing any Workday configuration changes, and establishing, maintaining, and monitoring close schedules. Also, assuring proper documentation exists to maintain accurate and complete financial statements This role solves routine problems related to the close and consolidation function and supports the team as they drive continuous improvement efforts and responds to configuration requests.
Establish, maintain, and monitor closing schedule
Oversee a team that performs all system related activities related to period and year-end close and test sand implements any Workday configuration changes
Oversee policies and procedures to the close process
Develop and maintain accounting policies
- Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field . CPA license and knowledge of GAAP preferred
5+ years finance experience in an accounting position, experience in accounting supervisory role
Ability to lead team on a day-to-day basis
Knowledge of accounting processes and systems
Relationship Management and Customer Service
Deep technical knowledge
Understanding of both financial and operational controls
Strong proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office, Workday, and reporting software (e.g., Qlik, SQL)
