WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Civil Engineer out of our Minneapolis, MN office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in design reviews from concept to advertisement and oversee design development
Lead local design teams on special projects and design tasks
Mentor and coach civil staff in the office
Prepare and review construction specifications
Assist in managing annual updates of standards and manuals
Effectively and clearly communicate to wide range of professionals, inside and outside the organization
Work closely with other team members on multi-disciplinary transportation infrastructure projects

Ability to quickly adapt to challenges and problem solve solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a closely related field
Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain in 6 months.
7+ years of design, construction, engineering, architecture, and/or project management experience
Ability to rapidly absorb and interpret technical information
Fluency with modern design and development principles
Ability to manage assignments independently
Ability to read and understand civil/roadway construction plans
Excellent communication and technical writing skills
Proficiency in Microstation, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
Knowledge of the Minnesota Department of Transportation Bureau and AASHTO design criteria
Knowledge of construction field inspection and applicable specifications
