Fairview Health Services Patient Transport Opportunities – Great Entry Level Position! in Minneapolis, Minnesota


Fairview Health Services is growing. As a result, we are seeking individuals that are passionate about patient care and strive to make a difference every day.

As a Patient Transporter, you will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with medical professionals and assist in providing outstanding service to our patients and customers. In this role, you will transport patients and equipment to and from nursing stations, clinics and ancillary areas.

This is a .5 FTE (40 hours per two week pay period), benefits eligible position.

The schedule for this position is as follows:

Week 1

Tuesday 230p-1100p

Week 2

Wednesday 230p-1100p

Friday 230p-1100p

Saturday 1130a-800p

Sunday 1130a-800p

Responsibilities/Job Description

Job duties include:

  • Transporting patients to and from locations throughout the University Campus to facilitate service and assure patient safety.

  • Maintaining equipment and readiness to assure prompt patient delivery.

  • Demonstrating appropriate knowledge of safety protocols, infection control standards and emergency preparedness.

  • Working with patients, families and all members of the medical team.

  • Ensuring patient satisfaction by providing prompt and timely responses to all transport related tasks.

  • Providing outstanding customer service to patients, families and all members of the medical team.



  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Customer experience

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift

  • Ability to lift, transfer and transport patients and equipment

  • Similar experience
