Job Summary Under minimal supervision, responsible for the day-to-day investment accounting operations in a complex multi-company financial services corporation with a growing investment pool of over $1 billion in marketable securities, alternative investments, direct investments, impact investments, and other investments. Provides timely and accurate information to corporate management and officers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintains complex general ledger activity which includes journal entries to adjust balances, prepares, keys, and edits journal entries Prepares, analyzes, interprets, and provides explanations and/or recommendations to management Implements accounting software, including design, testing, and documentation of new processes Responsible for the documentation, maintenance and improvement of departmental policies and desktop procedures Manages conflicting priorities and handles multiple tasks/projects concurrently May serve as a mentor and evaluator of less experienced team members Complies with all policies and procedures Performs other duties as assigned Investment Accounting, Reporting .and. Planning Responsible for all accounting functions related to investments, including investment reporting, investment reconciliation, investment valuations, and investment audit support Acts as the lead Finance and Accounting contact with the internal Investment team; leads, coordinates, and documents meetings between teams Implements, strengthens, and reviews the investment control framework, processes, and documentation on a regular basis Performs valuation analysis, reviews valuation assumptions, and owns the internal controls over valuation activities Provides timely and accurate financial information to corporate management and officers for ECMC Group affiliated companies Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of general ledger account reconciliations Prepares monthly financial statements used for both internal and external reporting Coordinates and prepares annual audit reports, audit documentation, and audit procedures as well as quarterly consolidating statements Coordinates and prepares the development and creation of annual budgeting and forecasting Applies and interprets generally accepted accounting principles Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience Required Bachelor's Degree in the areas of Finance or Accounting or extensive related experience 7+ years progressive experience in Investment Accounting, Fund Accounting, or Financial Services Preferred Certified Public Accountant Public Accounting experience Experience in investment software (Addepar) and the flow of information between the investment software and general ledger Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Advanced Excel skills Demonstrated analytical and problem solving abilities Effective written and verbal communication skills Sound project management skills Ability to collaborate across the enterprise, functions, and all levels of the organization Demonstrated ability to mentor and assist less experienced team members Intermediate knowledge and skills working in a computer based office suite environments; Microsoft Windows or Mac Office Displays and promotes high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational and government standards Ability to keep confidentiality Enterprise Competenc
